Rob S.,

I have had a great deal of luck with an offbrand motherboard named ATIMA. Ran it at 83MHz for 5 days in a row with 60ns EDO RAM before I gave it off to my friend. Uses the latest Intel chipset for socket 7 and costs 89 bucks. Can be purchased at grin.net

Best of luck

Kevin

Rob,

Congratulate for your IDTI!

Your VXPro is just fine for 83Mhz bus speed. There is no need to get another 83Mhz socket 7 motherboard for now since the 100Mhz socket 7 boards are coming.

I heard that the 100Mhz board by ECS works quite well. However, as expected, the 100Mhz boards are quite picky towards SDRAM. It is going to be tough for distributors when end users don't understand that they need the top grade SDRAM for 100Mhz bus speed.

Just in case you need more RAM on your system, then, you might want to consider ASUS SP-97V which have stable 83Mhz bus speed and could cache up to 128MB RAM in 4 72pin slots.
