Hi DD,
I agree with Mario. I have 500 shares at 18 and will probably get the other 500 shares today if we stay at the 17 range. This is at the IPO price. With all the pressure going on with tobacco and the government involvement with claims issues this has put great pressure on these types of stocks. Also with the Pope visiting Cuba and news that cigars have been smuggled to the United States on a very profitable basis for Cuba, has not helped the stock I'm sure. With the fear that someday Cubas enbargo situation will be ended also has hurt the stock. But what is our lesson of buying,,,,,,buy low......when there is blood in the streets......

So that is why Mario has taken the plunge. This vacation I was in Florida and while shopping I went into a cigar store and found myself getting a couple of good cigars for my husband and let me tell you I spent a forture on those darn things so he could swing a golf club with pleasure. Another thought GOLF and CIGARS go together in a country club way big time.

Best of investing in difficult times,
Marcie

I looked up Mario Gabelli's investment in MPP and he bought a total of 567,856 shares of MPP at between 17+ and 23. It looks like he's a cigar smoker. Today I decided to add another 500 shares to make it 1000 shares at 18+. He feels this stock will trade up towards 43 per share. I would be happy with that kind of return. Time will tell and hopefully this stock will not go up in smoke. Good luck.

Marcie
