The PC mag review was AWE64 Gold, which uses EMU8000 (As far as I know)

Hi everybody, new here, me.

The 10k1 is another matter. E-mu's interpolation is very smooth sounding, but Creative doesn't particularly take any advantage of it, most comments note that it sounds shrill or shrieking (including a recent review in PC Mag).

As far as I know:

The PC Mag review was of the AWE64 Gold, which uses the EMU8000 chip. The EMU10K1 chip is going to power the SoundBlaster Live! series of products due out later this year. SBL is going to be Creaf's new high-end series and probably going to be priced around AWE64 Gold price, and the other products may move down the price range. Heard a demo of the SBL (Environmental Audio) a while back, WOW!!! It's like being in a high-end cinema with Dolby Digital etc.
