I wrote this on Bentway's Trump board but it belongs here more than there, reacting to some of her statements. People love "originalism" because it sounds so "objective" but in fact it is incoherent and just represents whatever the person wants. I would ask this woman how she determines what "the people" (as opposed to James Madison) understood the law to mean in the late 18th century. Her explanation of "originalism" is absurd. I would also ask her, if she believes a law is barbaric but "the people" believe otherwise, would she uphold the law?
