Hi James,
I like the lyrics and feel it is uplifting. The problem I have with alot of things today is the absence of relationship. Get on that train but who are you going to ride with that is all I care about, if Jesus is sitting there I would leap on, for to me heaven is being with Him. My sons asked me what heaven was like after what they went thru and all I could tell them is it is being with Jesus for everything is beautifull if He is there. Eternal life is only valuable to me if I am with Him. I am not saying the song does not say this I am just sharing how I feel. On other threads they are so obsessed with who is going to heaven and who isn't that none of them talk about being with Him now and forever. They have missed the point in my opinion. May we all walk with Him like Enoch, Noah and others everyday for eternity. Nancy

James, I'm so old, I've never heard of Curtis Mayfield
Know 'nothin of his theology 'just the word as a shield
His grammar ain't so hot
Is that the best he's got?
'Aknowin about hummin diesels, 'duz he know what wheat will yield

'Duz he know about wheat & tares
'Duz he know about stock shares
'Duz he have twang
As he sang
About our God who "rapturously" snares

God's cargo 'agoin on a train
Methinks his theology 'tiz insane
Up in the sky
In the sweet bye and bye
No diesel can that much speed gain

I even thought you were too old
To listen to something quite as bold
As "hopeless" sinner
Not being a "winner"
And 'thru Jesus' blood 'amakin it into the fold

Pleasant hummin, James

Jack

PS I have a Volvo Diesel car that has 237,000 miles on it---I doubt it could make it to heaven, but Mayfield would be loved by diesel mechanics.
