Initial response in Singapore and other east Asian countries was better. Partly because they had experienced serious outbreaks in the last 20 years. In the US, there was a chance to learn from the Northeast which was impacted earlier. But the rest of America blew that chance. So now deaths per million in the rest of America are approaching levels of the Northeast’s initial shocking numbers.
