Respond to of 207837 Hi T, I bought some yesterday @ $26.88 and $26.87. Lot's of negative guru's throwing down on T with their chronic cord cutting and Time Warner creative being continuously put off. The Impact of Covid will hurt revenue , duh. It also shall pass! They have been hitting their numbers and paying down debt. Just last week they sold a property that Time Warner had owned, a european phone system. They gained 1.1 billion in cash AND ELIMINATED A DEBT BACKSTOP OBLIGATION OF 575 MILLION - what happened the stock went down! They can't win of late and that's when I like to add to. Lot's of sell stories as we go into earnings due out 10/22/2020 premarket. Usual nervous nellies selling because of news noise imo. Their dividend is safe and they have free cash flow that is very solid, not to mention the faster 5G that tests out super fast and supports our first responder system (First Net) on a national footprint unlike T mobile/Sprint who have holes in their system like swiss cheese. When traveling in a void area they drop you down to Verizon or AT&T's LTE 3 (as in slow metered internet). First Net is now nationwide and super fast. First responders get exposed to it and have the capability of adding thier residence to the system. It is creating a huge list of ambassadors of early adopters. For many years T was criticized for fiber optics to the customer. This built out a network faster than cable. T's communication systems are very sticky and have record low churn. Covid and not being able to terminate non payers has blurred this advantage. I did not buy T for capital gains. Its only purpose is to provide stable dividend revenue. My position currently is yielding 6.70%. Once Covid is a non factor, I believe T will get their payout ratio in the low 50%, they project low 60 % for this year vs 48% of last year's last quarter. I will not be surprised to see a nice long term capital gain to boot on a long term buy and hold position. Although T is trading below 27.00 today, I've owned it long enough that the dividend keeps me above water, while the recent 38ish before Covid had me sitting on a very nice gain. This is a well run blue chip cash flow monster. When the First Net system is understood to be the fastest and most reliable, they'll gain more customers. 5G's true speed and allure has yet to be implemented. It will first be utilized by commercial applications that pay premiums for the speed and better latency. The first Net system was installed with the yet to exist true fast 5G, simply a switch in the network. As the past CEO said, We'll climb that tower only once, the rest is software. That kind of well thought out technology will show great cost savings over the longer term build out. imo Bob
