Silly me--I forgot my father's addendum to the old saying:
Feed a cold, starve a fever, And drink your way through both.

He was a firm believer in hot toddies. He made them for us when we were sick or after emotional adolescent upheavals or as comfort for disappointments. Of course ours were only lemon juice, sugar and hot water, but they seemed to have some medicinal value. It may have been the hugs and attention that came with them.
I believe his may have been a tad stronger.

Take care, Biggie. (Fluids, rest, soft kleenex)

Biggie,

Hot toddies are wonderful libations. But I must tell you they don't cure anything. It's only that you don't so much mind having whatever it is you have while you are quaffing hot toddies. The more hot toddies, the less you mind.
