Good conversation, Italian cooking, quiet islands, Thelonius Monk, passionate soulful people, old houses, Wim Wenders, the color blue, scuba, the memory of my mother's hands washing me when I was a child, single malts, Bassett Hounds, bikini tan lines, wings, ladders, old trees, SI, the nape of a woman's neck, Bill Evans, the cool side of a pillow, starting car trips without a destination, healing, Michael Brecker, chimes, improvisation, courage, gratitude, Independent Film Channel, Richard Pryor, beautiful lamps, slang, the sound of children breathing after they've quickly drunk a glass of water . . .

Being referred to as one of creation's most loathsome creatures, that prefers inhabiting dead, decaying flesh makes me feel right at home here.

But, alas, there is a positive aspect to this loathsome little worm, it can restore dead, dying, decaying flesh to vigorous, blood-pumping health by eating and nibbling. <vbg>
