"Hang Seng, Nikkei, and Dow almost back to where they were a few months ago, almost like Asia never happened".

The Dow really hasn't seemed to pay much attention at all to Asia, as it's traded sideways the last 6-8 months.

Haven't looked at charts of the HS or Nikkei but I suspect they might show up as dead cat bounces since both are still dramatically off their highs.

The US markets have historically not reacted quickly to bad news. Rising interest rates that ended bull markets were often ignored for 6 months or more before leading to trouble.

Doesn't mean that it will happen that way here, but everyone has been told "see, the earnings weren't so bad in the 4th quarter?"

The public in the US hardly pays attention to US news (Clinton) let alone Asian problems. I think that it will take something very noticeable, possibly bad 1st quarter earnings to get anyone's attention.
