The photographs of the Jazz drilling gave me a better perspective than the one I had previously. My own very limited and ancient experience with diamond drilling in the Barrens was that the entire rig with collar and mast was much smaller. We slung the rig in a number of chopper loads from one site to the next.

The large shack on Jazz could mislead as it gives a more massive appearance. Nonetheless, this is a more substantial operation than I had envisaged and would take longer to break down, move and set up than I had thought.

Frozen and broken bits and broken strings happen routinely, as does difficult rock. Then again, experienced drillers and geos know this and should have plans/procedure in place as to what they will do when these events occur.

All things considered, I don't have a negative perception from the first hole. They have 18 targets. Let's see what happens in the next few weeks.

Still lurking ... Chris.
