For thus says the Lord of hosts:

Once more ( it is a little while ) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land;

and I will shake all nations and they shall come to the Desire of all Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory, says the Lord of hosts.

The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, says the Lord of hosts.

Hag. 2:6,7,8

Thanks for your thoughts - It would be fun to discuss the implications of Job with you, but with only a few minutes a day to be on the Net it wouldn't work. (I just heard a big collective sigh of relief from the other people on this thread). :)

Bobby,

<<I too see Gold as a symbol for God in the same way you do ..... >>

Your post was a pleasure to read. I believe the word "fear" in the context of "fearing God" has been misinterepreted. I believe what was meant was not fear in the sense that we use it i.e., being afraid, but rather _respect. IMVHO, it works a whole lot better. When one is "feared" (as in afraid) they may get compliance, but they never effect nor achieve the more meaningful, deeper and long lasting intent of what the process is about ... they do not take it to the next step, because they live in fear.

Contrast "living in fear" with "living with deep respect" for God .... when we "respect", we comply because of a deep appreciation for God's love, wisdom, insight, beauty, harmony, achievement, capacity to forgive .... I am sure you could make the list much longer.

Just another slant on things ...all the best,

MB
