With the Canadian $ now near .68 US, I am now making plans for taking my summer vaccation in Canada this year. Probably a lot of other Americans will do likewise, as they learn of the bargains now available in Canada. Such actions, of course, if done by enough people, will have the tendency to raise the level of the Canadian currenty vs. the US dollar.

As another poster stated recently, I agree that the "weakness" in the Canadian dollar is really just a case of the Canadian $ being slightly less strong than the US dollar vs the other world's currencies. The US dollar has had an amazing run, for reasons we are all aware of. It is not surprising that the Canadian Dollar has not kept pace completely, and even a little surprising that it has done as well as it has. Just my opinion, as a complete layman on the issue of relative currency movements. RR
