The Miller is the best of them Woody. Well done for having one at the time.
Reasonable prices among different manufacturers range from 1700 to 2000.

The best bet for availability seems to be through Airgas. (a data point, not an endorsement)
Diesel rather than gasoline would be the sticking point for me due to storability differences.
The generator will be in a small enclosure outfitted as a faraday cage since grid down is its main purpose.

Induction overload prevention options for home wiring are being explored. We're trying to find the correct distance at which any length/load needs to be separated with the proper fuse to prevent frying.
