Beautiful picture!!! Out of all the hurricanes I've been through we were only in one where the eye passed over us. That was back in 2004 when we had four hurricanes over a six week time span.

We get 100 mile winds in Juneau all the time in winter. We call them Taku's. A high pressure area to the east forces the wind through mountains behind us that are like large chocolate drops. Once a fire starts it is almost impossible to put out. The city of Douglas across the channel has burned down twice. One can just barely walk in those winds. I once walked down a hill to the theatre and had to go from one doorway to the next holding on to things, looking out for flying debris I really wanted to see that movie-lol.
