photo of Max Patch, North Carolina

the hike up to the top is on a decent slope when you park on the dirt road access below
the center section of the Patch ... amazing star gazing location.

Max Patch is a bald mountain on the North Carolina-Tennessee Border in Madison County,
North Carolina, and Cocke County, Tennessee.
It is a major landmark along the Tennessee/North Carolina section of the Appalachian Trail,
although its summit is located in North Carolina

I expect to up on the bald several evenings into early morning for specific dark sky events in late November / early December

see you there if you are in the area ... look for a guy with a salt & pepper beard driving
a Subaru and parked off the dirt road access

clear air & free of sound experiences are healthy moments in life
