I think what you say is correct for most of SI, whose hero is Jessie Livermore, who ended up going bankrupt and committing suicide.

No doubt Jessie was very smart and had a wealth of trading insight. But look where that got him.

It can be/should be both. I obvious one's ST trading becomes better when you get the overall IT/LT right as well. You can just step into 1 side of the trade and hit a lot of singles/doubles.

I wish more would share their IT insights more often here.
