A transcendentalist is one who continually goes beyond himself, questions everything, including the question mark, looks at things from every possible angle available. A transcendentalist is one who attacks his ideas with other ideas and uses his emotions to question his ideas. And vice versa: using one's ideas to question and attack one's innermost feelings. It is putting oneself through the ringer to achieve balance.

I am a fan of Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson, along with the whole New England Transcendental Movement, including Bronson Alcott, Ellery Channing and Margaret Fuller.
