At the end of the day, what is the "Statistical Principle" behind a Poll ....

You ask a group, that may only represent about 0.1% of the Overall Group, some questions and you then assume that their "average" answer/opinion reflects the "average" answer/opinion of the 100% Group !!!

Needless to say, if you are looking for a "preferred answer" to that Poll, you will choose a ~0.1% sample group that will most likely give you the answer that you would prefer to get, e.g. you ask a "sample group" in Silicon Valley if they want Donald Trump to be their President !!!

As Mark Twain said, "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and STATISTICS."

The only "Poll" of any real value is a well supervised ELECTION.
