I read Vogt's book "God's Day of Judgement" a while back. I don't recall him giving a wave height but he does say it will cross the continent in 3 to 4 hours I believe (basically 1000 mph). So you can read into that how ever you want. Just more bad news. Sorry.

I think, if this time around the whole shebang happens again, it's another 25ish years to the crustal displacement thing. I'm sure there's a +/-. But the wave would be real big. Thousands of feet, well over 100mph. From everything I can glean, Pike's Peak has been identified as one place where there were survivors in "the americas" the last time. There are some indications that the mountains of Georgia held some as well.
The geo-effective lead-up to that, which we've obviously entered, is going to be nearly as big a challenge, in a more gradual sort of way. In a way that's more imaginable to prepare for. And luck favors the prepared.
