jwk, perception is reality. I can only comment on my own experience. I hear these reports and with my considerable experience with the products I have not experienced these problems to the extent that this technology is particularly flawed. However, the fact that this is the perceptionj of some people, is a concern to me and something that I think IOM should address. Istandby IOM products until I am convinced first hand that it detracts from by efforts at work.

Iomega addresses the problem in their Tech Support pages:

It is a result of a physical problem in either the disk or drive.
