Anybody checked ANAD today? Major implosion, down 60%. Asia causing sharp falloff in orders of GaAs chips. I understand Vitesse (VTSS) is in the same business. Would this be a good short?

Charles, Lucent is a freight train and I would not short it. Momentum is just starting to enter into this stock and since LU is expected to make strategic aquisitions in the digital network arena I would expect this momentum to continue for some time. In fact, I keep hoping that LU will buy my Bay because I would like to own LU stock exspecially if combined with a company like Bay. Not to mention that the earnings estimates are just begging to get revised upwards and analysts are moving their recomendations up also. Over the past 18 weeks average analyst recomendations have moved up from 4.05 to 4.26 (5=strong buy) and their estimates for the current year have moved from roughly $2.73 to just over $3.00 and for next year they have moved from $3.38 to over $3.60.
