I regularly transfer from one of my accounts to Schwab and it usually takes 3 -5 business days. The original transfer though, to set up my Schwab account, was like 3 weeks! Seems like a long time for someone else to be holding my money (and probably earning something on it in the interim). Good luck on getting it quicker, but I think Goose is right, its a joke!!! ;>)

Max - I've moved accounts around and have always been told I could trade through the "original" broker until such time that the transfer is done. They usually tell you approximately when that will occur and then you can phone them to check.
