I just don't see that it is in anyone's interest to be limited to a certain slate of candidates, as in the case of a party primary. The voter should vote for the candidate they want in each office. As it sits now you have to decide which office is the most important to you, and join that party, or you just have to cede your vote power to party apparatchiks. That is a scheme to limit your choice and power, not a way to harness the wisdom of the crowds.
