John *OFF TOPIC* I saw a company that looked interesting about 2 months ago, Discovery channel did a 10-15 minute piece on them-only saw pieces of it. They're called "C3". Located in one of the mid atlantic states; Virginia I think. They have a process to make synthetic diamonds that are so real certified appraisers couldn't tell they were synthetic. In fact they showed them taking one of their stones to 2 certified appraisers in NYC and got written appraisals from each for about $7500 for a stone they'd sell for around $600. Only way to detect it is with a machine they're going to retail for about $500.00. I couldn't find anything about them from the people at the Discovery channel or by their name on the net. They may not be public at this point but if they went that route the product looked interesting. Have a good one, Deep Digm
