Quite possibly, but they would have died anyway. These are older Americans with co-morbidities. The CDC has said that around 130K of the 240K deaths were people who likely did not die OF COVID, but rather WITH COVID. Meaning, the root cause was a co-morbidity, not COVID itself. What makes COVID scary is that it spreads easily and very fast. But in the history of viruses, this one is not particularly lethal in comparison to other pandemics. Coronaviruses are not new. We have been living with them all along. This time around, what's different is that the social media and mainstream media has been used to hype it beyond any reasonable analysis. The data simply doesn't support this level of hysteria and certainly it doesn't support widespread lockdowns. The bottom line is this. If you are over 70 and have co-morbidities, be very careful and it might even be good to isolate yourself in your home. If you are under 70 and have no co-morbidities, then go about your life as normal, but be extra diligent in washing your hands frequently and take extra precautions like wearing a mask when indoors with a lot of other people, as in stores, restaurants, and offices. No lockdowns necessary. That is just hysteria. Oh and btw, what we are doing to our young children in this country, the people 21 and under, is absolutely criminal. They have a 99.98% survivability rate when they get COVID. They should NEVER have been locked down and schools should never have been shut down. Remote schooling is having disastrous consequences for their mental health and is resulting in an entire generation of kids who are not learning critical social skills at a critical time in their childhood. The adults in this country who are in charge are psychotic and don't know the first thing about science, if this is the best they can do. We need a nuanced approach. Ham fisted lockdowns is the product of retarded leaders with zero common sense and zero ability to think critically and in a balanced manner.
