I live for others, for members of my family, my wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, dog, friends, those who suffer and go to bed hungry, those who are homeless, those who cannot afford medical attention.

Without these others, I am nothing, worthless, empty inside.

You have a heart, which is why I still post to you, even though we disagree on policy. So I'll tell you what I told Real Man.

If you really care about all those people who cannot afford things, then why on earth would you trust a government that has no ability to count votes, has no ability to do anything effectively, and spends more time and money destroying other countries around the world than helping its own people? Our government is only good at one thing and that is death and destruction. They are good at absolutely nothing else.

But what put those poor people out of jobs? You and I are safely in our homes and we both have good healthcare. So it incumbent upon people like you and me to try to imagine what happens to the bottom half of this country when we go into lockdown. I used to be one of those people, so I know viscerally what poor people go through. Do you? These people are the ones who become unemployed and lose access to healthcare. Lockdowns are unconscionable from this perspective. So the elitists who think lockdowns are the answer are ignoring that the bottom half HAS NO CHOICE but to work to put food on the table, a roof over their heads, and pay for healthcare out of pocket. To enforce lockdowns on these people is to put them into poverty almost overnight. If you have a heart, which I believe you do from your posts, then why would you knowingly choose to destroy these people?

If I was a father in those circumstances today and my choice was to get COVID and take my chances while earning a living for my family or stay at home and not get COVID, but lose my home, not be able to feed my family, and not be able to pay for healthcare, then you bet your azz I'd go to work and risk getting COVID. I'd prioritize my family over my own health every day of the week. These are choices best left to individuals and their families, NOT arrogated to an unthinking, uncaring, hamfisted government that doesn't know my circumstances and simply has no ability to make decisions on behalf of me that are better for me than those decisions I can make for myself. The arrogance, the utter lack of humility, of elitists is breath taking and if you stopped to think about it, you know this. Your faith in government is wholly misplaced. People should be able to decide for themselves what they do for their families.

Also, if you cared for these people, then why is your party for all of the rioting, looting, and burning of cities, and the defunding of the police, which has totally destroyed those cities where it is happening, and those people are mostly minorities and poor people, so they are now worse off than they used to be. The only function of government that is useful is policing and law and order and the Democrats are against that. So if you are a Democrat, then you say all the pretty words, but then are against the one useful thing that poor people need more than anything else....police and law and order. Without those things, nothing else can be achieve and nothing else matter. It is Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs.
