On the Bering Peninsula birds other than crows and pigeons that survived in an airplane hangar got the hell outta town before the cold hit.

Ok you forced me to do some (very little) work. Looks like I am correct and Canadian Jays (Perisoreus canadensis) spend all winter in their territories. In fact the worst cold just makes them amorous:
