I have no doubt that other drugs will be found that are more effective. The one you point out appears to be one of those. At the time, however, these were little known and the manufacturer of Hydroxychloroquine was willing to donate something like 6Million doses to the US government. Given the shitfest we have witnessed I applaud the President for simply wanting to move ahead and save lives. An available tested safe drug capable of being used immediately in quantity is unheard of. We had that and we let bought and paid for politicians and hacks like Fauci kill people so he could get blow jobs from people like Nancy Pel. and other truly despicable out for the cash scum-bags.
