Nice. I guess they are building on past HSA cooperation here for the low-level stuff. Now we just need the industry to unify around SYCL as the heterogeneous programming model, and everything will be roses and harmony (Intel's oneAPI, with their DPC++ compiler, is based on the SYCL programming model as well), replacing Nvidia's CUDA and AMD's HIP.

"SYCL (pronounced ‘sickle’) is a royalty-free, cross-platform abstraction layer that enables code for heterogeneous processors to be written using standard ISO C++ with the host and kernel code for an application contained in the same source file."
