I'm sorry to read of your decision and am thankful for the warning you've given us. I hope someone steps up. The commitment is not something I'm willing to make. The contest has been fun. It's provided a useful marker for me and added to the sense of community among those interested in biotech on SI, and it got me to make two more charitable donations each year. Your choice always sat well with me. Ashley

…I did have some fun writing the initial introductory sentences, although they occasionally got me in trouble with the more conservative contestants. I may have objected to it once or twice, but I genuinely enjoyed your weekly political lede. During the past few years, you’ve had a bounty of raw material to draw on, which may soon change. Is this the real reason you’re retiring? :- )

I'll take over from BulbaMan to keep Charity Contest going. It's benefited a great many people, although I think Bulba is THE winner for his original intentions even if his portfolio never placed first. I will need to start a new thread and start taking submissions soon. Please hang on while I get the hang of this. I sincerely hope that 2021 will be much better for all than 2020 has been.
