I'm more hopeful than you for a bit.. I see Ms. Harris as a little bit of light .. but I agree that the system set up by the founding fathers makes progress very tough .. I wonder had they been more prescient would they have saddled the country with the government they did ?

The American system has now become self defeating ... and electing the Apprentice star does not seem to have been the wake up call I expected ?

I was in high school and still am a big fan of the French (from France not my home province Québec) stories Astérix and Obélix Les Gaulois.. the one single village the Romans never conquered in all of Gaul.. (in the story)

Anyway considering America is oft compared to Rome .. The two had this ongoing line Iles sont fou ces Romains (Those Romans are crazy :)
