George, I think that the rally in Asia is going to turn into a rut, particularly when they see both conservatives and liberals in congress putting up a big fight over loaning money to the IMF. By the way, does anyone knows how much money was davanced to the IMF in the last 12 months?. Some of this could account for the $150 billion difference between our actual debt increase and the apparently smaller deficit (only some $30 billions?). After all, money we loan to the IMF is not counted as expense on our book but as a loan, and we need to turn around and borrow this from the public.

As for here, those stubborn turnips are still calling for a very cold February, but they have partially changed their mind as to the depth of the February decline, they see a low of about 7400 to 7500 in February, but the bottom is now delayed to beyond the Ides of March. They get very cloudy as to where from the "Spring Rally" they promised will come, but it seems above the October lows (until recently they were predicting a late winter low below the October lows, unreliable turnips).
