Aaron, re: "This looks like potential backup CPU production capacity to me! Replacing low margin flash
production with high margin CPU production should be a no-brainer should their current CPU
production capacity prove insufficient"

I don't understand your reasoning. How does converting a line from logic to memory provide potential backup CPU production capacity? Unless you mean if it was 0.25 for logic and goes over to flash, it could easily go back to logic? Exactimundo?

Looked to me like Intel wants to jump-start flash memory.

Looks like that "Market Perform" initial recommendation by BT Alex Brown was taken as a downgrade. I don't understand these initial recommendations. Like they had no recommendation before on a $25 billion revenue super dominant industry leader??? Maybe they had to find Ms. Klauer something to do?

Tony

Aaron - Re: "his looks like potential backup CPU production capacity to me!"

It is. But I think Intel is going to have adequate 0.25 micron capacity .

Intel in fact is expanding D2 - again! They have to re-route traffic in one building in Santa Clara as they expand D2 into space occupied by that building.
