Sort of funny to see this Star Link conversion while Canada is the champion of blackouts the moment there is a bit of wind or ice.

Consider looking in to super hydrophobic treatments for the dish. Unfortunately I found one but not climbing my roof with vertigo to apply it. Otherwiise , I do use a steel rod to shed the snow and ice.

<<<<< I am thinking blower is better than melting .. So rig up a periodic air sweep so to speak..>>>

Exactly. Charge up an old 100 pound propane tank,,free of course,,compressed air to 3/4 pvc pipe,, up the

pole to flattened nozzle ,solid mount to dishie that sweeps air, just above dishies flat face . Valve at the

propane tank, give her a blast

as needed. You can not beat Red Green engineering school,, I attended once a week for years.

You get the HD discount and you could turn the add on into serious Red Green coin!

High volume compressed air has been used on railway switches to keep them free of snow for years,,

along with propane heaters.

The warmth created from dish flat face might take care of remaining snow or ice,, we will have all the answers

and innovation in the next few months. I’m Elonated.
