I missed the ANAD ANN. last night. I guess I am lucky I would have missed a night of sleep. Anyway it looks like we are starting to get some answers to our questions. If you go back to one of my post the questions about taking market share from ANAD was asked, Subject: Anadigics gets theirs Date: Fri, Jan 30, 1998 01:38 EST From: Spec3608 Message-id: <19980130063801.BAA07324@ladder03.news.aol.com> Anad reported q4 &ye 97 results. 4Q gross margin declined to 39.5% & ceo commented that Anad is "experiencing a substantial reduction in orders from our wireless customers, which will result in significantly lower sales and could result in a loss for the period. This recent information shows a significant reduction in phone bulid rates on certain products from our customers and suggests that they now have excess inventories of our products. We believe that the lower demand is attributable to several factors including, increased competition, a shift in demand to lower cost phones not using anad products, customer delays in the ramp of new dual band phones using our new products and, in part, to the Asian financial crisis on the wireless market." This is very interesting as it relates to TQNT. The first factor for anadigics is INCREASED COMPETITION. DOES THIS MEAN TRIQUINT IS TAKING POWER AMP BUSINESS AWAY FROM anad??????? TQNT has strategic relationships with QCOM nad ERICY. They are anad's 2 top wireless customers. Are some of these design wins resulting in orders for TQNT???? In 1997 anad saw huge sales in GaAs power amps to ERICY and QCOM. If TQNT can capture next generation power amp sales to ERICY, QCOM, Lucent/ Phillips, Nokia 98 could be very big year. There are two wireless shows in February. TriQuint should announce new 3V power amps at these shows. Earnings are to be reported on 2/11/98. Good luck to all ( This could be the start of something big)
