Now the difference between get and fetch, I can explain, and so could Ralph and Laszlo (Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier and Hungarian Puli), with fetch including the actions of getting and bringing back.

And bring vs. take? As I understand it, bring is only toward the speaker:

"Betty, when you visit tonight, would you please bring your pinking shears? No, I forgot the children will be here. Perhaps it would be better if you take them to tomorrow's quilting bee at the auditorium. Thanks, you're a dear."
