Dear Rambians-Have a wonderful day--we are off to the District Swim Meet a couple of hours away. Any swim parents out there know the joy of meets-endless boring hours culminating in one minute of heartstopping watery exertion, over so quickly, success or failure dependent on the timing of a turn, the streamlining of an entry, whether your goggles stay on. All the rituals have been performed---head shaved, body hair removed, so much pasta consumed I don't want to look at a strand of spaghetti for months. We have one very nervous kid, seeded third in the 100 breast- so wish us luck. These are the times that try parents' souls.
