Sent elderly back into nursing homes. Might as well have been gas chambers.

Slightly off topic but you live in the Bay Area too...

yahoo.com

As you know LA has shutdown all outdoor dining and the Governor is threatening to do that to the rest of the state. The link purports that there are five activities with significant peril for transmission. What they all have in common is they are indoor activities. Outdoor activities have never been shown to be significant modes of transmission. I'm getting really pissed they are taking away what little freedom we have yet is a non-factor when it comes to transmission. Indoor activities are obviously the cause of spikes throughout the country and it shouldn't surprise anyone. We pay a big price to live in CA to enjoy the weather and I want them to quit punishing responsible/non-transmitting activities just for the optics. Let's be smart about this.

Hell, when Santa Clara County went from purple to red they dropped the requirement to purchase food in order to get a drink. Now that we have gone back to purple we have to buy food again. I'm not certain how that pretzel with cheese dip is going to prevent more transmission.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in distancing and masking when that is not possible and outdoor activities, I'm pissed our bureaucrats pull this arbitrary shit for show and without rational thought. Our food/bar service industry is dying when they don't have too. Sorry for the rant.
