Sure but what about the $.40 for 1998?

Micron was expected to loss money because the sale price of DRAM was at or below production price.

I find it VERY VERY difficult to believe that Cymer will earn anything close to $.40 in 1998.

I don't see supply being that large of a factor for 1998. We've said before that fabs will probably upgrade existing facilities versus building new or going to 300mm initially.

The number of DUV's in full production is much greater now than last Q. This will provide the confidence and expertise necessary to push forward.

We'll have our up's and down's but I hafto believe that the road ahead is brighter than the path we've recently crossed.

Re: <<Short term, I think that the stock action today actually stunk>>

- only if you were short or wanted to buy in at 13 today. Given the 1Q outlook, it was difficult to expect funds to rush in, but I doubt that the company was the only or the predominant buyer. More likely, quite a few shorts did cover today.

I do not dispute though that you may still get in at your target level.

<< I think there was a lot of distribution>>

- could you please explain this statement in more detail? Are you suggesting that some big investors accumulated the stock at 14.5-15 to make a quick buck? Sounds risky to me. Or maybe you think that some dissapointed fund managers were unloading their holdings? They could do it much earlier and at a better price. Or maybe you mean that the company was the only buyer and that uncovered short interest today is higher than it was yesterday?

TIA,

Y.
