Yes, Reagan was defeated by the Democratic Congress and abandoned the goal of balancing the budget. It was literally front page news:

October 2, 1982 The Democratic-controlled House yesterday emphatically rejected a balanced-budget amendment to the Constitution, handing President Reagan his second major legislative defeat in less...

Trump agrees with everything you wrote about Republicans. He hated all the Bush's, McCain, and Romney and bought full page ads in the NYT attacking Reagan when he was President.

And he claims he was for keeping Saddam in power because he claimed he killed terrorists. It was a lie of course, but its one you might like.

More coming up.

Do you remember Gore ran on a policy of overthrowing Saddam?

BBC News | AMERICAS | Gore: Saddam must go
news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/809168.stm
Jun 28, 2000 · US Vice-President Al Gore has told Iraqi opposition politicians that the United States remains committed to the overthrow of President Saddam Hussein. There can be no peace for the Middle East so...

Gore, like the Clinton's, was originally a hawk on Iraq. In fact, the "lies" you and Trump claim Bush told about WMD's came from Clintons CIA head, who was retained by Bush and who gave him the exact same intelligence.

Even more coming up.

Who ran on universal health care in 2016? TRUMP

On the question of universal healthcare, Trump said: "I am going to take care of everybody. I don't care if it costs me votes or not. Everybody's going to be taken care of much better than they're taken care of now. The government's going to pay for it."

Sure it was a lie, but he meant well, right. You shoulda been a Trumper. He ran on universal health care and hated the Republicans who came before him.

In the 2000 election, Gore was the more hawkish candidate. What happened? 911
