why would anyone in their right mind buy a 10 year bond yielding 1%? seems to me like you have a 90% chance of losing principal doing so. especially now when i would say you have one of the most compelling opportunities to buy reits paying generous yields with excellent opportunities for price appreciation in the face of likely inflation in the next decade.

I have made the most sales in the last 4 days than I have in the last 18 months. Many of my natural resource and Oil/Gas up 20% since 11/2020, so I have peeled off a few of those shares (CVX & BHP .. 6 year high) and trying to find low risk value Buys to replace that income.

I looked at PRU but that has already run +30% from Nov but I do have a GTC Buy at @ $68/share to start a position. I did add a few D at/near $77 but that only yields 3% after they cut their dividend.

So I scanned some of the recent buys on the Value thread and found a few that looked like they have a ways to go in this sector rotation rally. CTO came up on the list along w/ a few others.

FWIW, they are mostly Paul Senior picks and several pretty small and or niche plays.

Sitting on a bunch of cash and not so sure I want to do my CA building project w/ (1) step-up in property tax, (2) 13% CA income tax on rental income and (3) 3.5% cost of money if I borrow while rents are moving lower. More specific project 'risk' I want to take now especially when I can buy under valued REITs.

It's much easier to buy/own REITs w/ similar Cap rates and a depressed BV, than doing the real estate projects I have been researching (in two States CA & Nevada). Properties I see are just too expensive even fixers (if/when they are available).

FWIW, Sitting on the most cash ever in the brokerage account while my portfolio hits all time highs (and I have none of those high growth flyers w/ little to no income other than PLTR). Last count I hold 84 positions.

Sometimes if it goes too good, it's time to leave the party early (or play some defense).

Good investing . .still looking for those un-discovered value Buys.

EKS
