Truman, unfortunately, Dipy belongs in the majority with 73% of the US (from what I am hearing on PBS as I type). The commentators seem amazed at the new Development from DuPont. Reportedly, there are DuPont scientists right now at the White house scrutinizing the new formulation of Teflon that was escavated from Area51.

What is maddening to me is the Prez in his State of the Union has gone back to old Demo tricks of promising to spend our tax dollars to buy cops and teachers where infact the money should be left at the local level so we can decide for ourselves how to spend our money. He made such a "wonderful" speech that all transgressions seem forgotten. Talk about a smoke screen, and he didn't even inhale.

My 2 Cents - When a high official acts in such a reckless fashion, there are bound to be many other scandals. These scandals may or may not come out in public. However, it is not a big leap to think that a scandal under wraps may be known to someone who can then blackmail the Pesident. This is my concern.

ps keep up the good work Truman.

More than defending the President, my comments were aimed at people who don't hesitate to think of double hearsay (no -- make it multiple hearsay) as established fact. I have no intention whatsoever to "cork the discussions here", as you put it. And if you noticed, I am continuing to participate in the regular discussions on this thread. If I did get back to this topic, it is because some of the others here thought it fit to post gossip on sundry radio talk shows as "important news".

Frankly, I am amazed to see people regard the supposed statements of the self-proclaimed liar Ms. Lewinsky (surreptitiously recorded for posterity, of course, by a "close friend" -- a friend so close that she would perhaps even be willing to lay down her life for Ms. Lewinsky's sake ;-) ) with such seriousness. And if I find myself in that state, I would think even becoming a "bedazzled defender" of the President would be an improvement upon that.

Dipy.

Truman, I am sorry to have helped only lighten the feelings on the tread to defuse anger. I do stand with you as to your points of view about MR. Fearless. Please keep a steady course.
