Sense in the most part you are right, I tried 5 years ago to change the format of round tube like batteries within a steel holding container into a big towel size aerogel type battery see slides 17 through 19 at www2.slideshare.net Tried to convince TAU Chemistry faculty, at the beginning without success - then later they copy the concept on small scale and claimed their own - the separator was a deposit of thin micron thick of alumina on silicone sponge.
