TJ the key words are "critical components such as ceramic separators" porous alumina fits the bill or a combination of alumina and other carbides to hold it all together. The gell is old news, as the problem was always the separators and litium buildup penetrating the separator. Well in 2016 at an international conference, when I proposed something similar I was simply dismissed. I realize that the main problem is not what I know or do not know - but my age and the amount of half-truths that can be propagated and promised.
