Dennis:
Most of the lambs out there have not yet recognized the way companies now use "one-time-only restructuring charges" (every year or so) to clean out the debris accumulated from accounting legerdemain, or to excuse themselves from big operating errors.(g)

I loved the way Louis gutted the incoming assets when he purchased Lotus.......nice to have assets with low book value so they are not able to generate much amortization.
Incidentally, IBM still has an announced restructuring sum that they have not yet booked, if I remember correctly.

There will come a day when this mad use of capital and debt to buy back shares will be recognized for what it is.....a giant stock price support mechanism.

Best, Earlie
