Hi Simon,

>>It still is a
bull mkt. Kind of hard to imagine unless Asia is forgiven all its debts.

I think it's not Asia our taxpayer money will be "forgiving", but Citibank and other lenders to Asia. These big guys don't feel risk is something they need to count on, so long as Clinton, Rubin, and Greenspan will just tweak the taxpayer and reimburse them for their mistakes, all the while making noises about global market meltdown if we don't help out those poor lenders. I've just written my congressman and senators with my feelings and suggest others do the same. If some private investors get hurt, hey, look out whom you put your money with next time! Is everything in life risk free?

RE: your market observations, I was a bit surprised to see the Dow down and the S&P futures flat or positive. I haven't had time to look around, but I'm wondering what the market is telling us there.

>>OFF TOPIC: "Culture shock in moving to Fl." A bit hyperbolic, I guess. If you're a coat-and-tie Northeastern type, the informality here is a bit shocking. You won't have the shows, restaurants, music etc as in the big city, but most of us are too busy to enjoy those things anyway. Lots of fishing and boating. Weather shock takes a couple of years to acclimate to, but everyting is air conditioned anyway. Also some don't like the bugs, lizards and occasional snake. After living here about five years in the sixties, I went back in the Air Force and lived in the Wash DC area. One morning, while chipping ice off my windshield with teeth chattering, I decided the downside of Fl was worth it. It's really been a good place to be.
