The logistics of supplying 500 men in in a 3rd world country with all that is necessary for prolonged troop involvement and movement is complicated. In this area of the Sudan its a simple matter of cutting off a few roads and shutting off what fuel and food supply there is to immobilize or send the offending vermin back across the border.

Larry, Confirmed- Heavy fighting has commenced as of today in three areas of the southern Sudan- see CNN for update tonight on fighting at least in the Wau Area. The fighting in other areas is yet to be reported by the International Press....Interestingly CNN reports that Commander Bol has defected from the NIF Military Junta Forces and is leading the fight to capture Wau on behalf of the SPLA Freedom Fighters.

I cannot confirm that report- will have better information as of Monday....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
