The less platters/heads per drive was a theme followed by one of the questioners in serveral of the calls I listened to. And for the sub zero pc segment (<$1000 retail), this makes sense.

Which WDC pretty much said, that their clients were interested in bringing costs down and ignoring the bleeding edge. But then that was the driving force behind the milking of TFI, I thought.
