Welcome Back Richard,

The best definition of the subject on short interest can be found at equis.com. Now, once you understand the dynamics of short interest you will gain confidence in your investing.

Show me a high short interest position and a turnaround company situation or events and I'll show you eventual upward stock price gaps that will make your eyes pop out $$$$! VVUS is going to be a upward gapper like it went down. It's a two edge sword!

In summary, you short the stock thinking it is going down and in the meantime it reverses on you as the price sky rockets upward. So, you have to pay a much higher price for that stock to cover your short (position) losses. Of course, the MMs and daytraders are helping drive up the short term demand for the stock and that is where you make a BIG $ kahuna. Wow! I have used that word in a while!

Watch SKM folks! It is approaching $9.00 from $7.50 two weeks ago when I mentioned it! The stock is only NOW starting to cross over the 200-day moving average. That's a nice percentage increase. As that Korean dollar starts to return back towards some reasonable level, the value of their dollar will rise again. It's at an ALL time bottom! That can't last forever!
